Darcy Tucker scored on a two-man advantage with 10.7 seconds left in regulation, then added the winner in the fifth round of a shootout in the Colorado Avalanche’s 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. Colorado’s Wojtek Wolski and Edmonton’s Sam Gagner also scored in the shootout, both in the first round.

Maybe Marian Gaborik isn’t Minnesota’s most important free-agent-to-be. Niklas Backstrom’s contract is up after the season, too, and the way he has been guarding the goal he’ll be in line for big raise. Marek Zidlicky and Antti Miettinen scored in the shootout and Backstrom made two saves to lift the Wild past the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-2 on Saturday night.

Loui Eriksson scored twice to lead the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night. Dallas snapped a three-game losing streak with its second win in seven games. Mark Parrish added a power-play goal, and Mike Ribeiro added three assists. Mary Turco made 25 saves for his fifth win of the season and the 212th of his NHL career.

Zach Parise scored the only goal in the shootout, Scott Clemmensen stopped all three Washington shooters and the New Jersey Devils ended a four-game losing streak with a 6-5 victory over the Capitals on Saturday night. After Parise, New Jersey’s first shooter, beat Jose Theodore with a deke, Clemmensen secured the win with saves on Viktor Kozlov, Alex Ovechkin and Boyd Gordon.

Jon Sim had a goal and assist, Joey MacDonald stopped 38 shots and the New York Islanders beat the Ottawa Senators for the second straight game, 3-2 on Saturday night. Sean Bergenheim and Chris Campoli also scored to help New York win consecutive games for only the second time this season. On Thursday night in Ottawa, the Islanders beat the Senators 3-1.
